Vaginal Mucous Discharge

A vaginal mucous discharge could indicate the presence of lichen sclerosus (Lichen Sclerosis). Glands of the cervix produce clear mucus that is used to cleanse the vagina and discourage bacteria from developing. Some amount of this mucus is normal for every woman of the childbearing age. It can be clear, white or yellow. A vaginal mucous discharge could indicate the presence of lichen sclerosus (Lichen Sclerosis).

Lichen Sclerosus, Lichen Sclerosis

If this secretion suddenly changes in consistency, amount or color, it may be a sign of any infection or STDs and the woman should visit a gynecologist. White secretion that looks like cottage cheese could mean a yeast infection. A vaginal mucous discharge could indicate the presence of lichen sclerosus (Lichen Sclerosis).
