Abnormal vaginal discharge, white and oderless excluded, indicates an infection such as verruca or HPV in which HPV is linked to cervical cancer. Whitish cloudy secretions are present in all women of childbearing age and are quite normal. These secretions are necessary to cleanse the vagina from possible infections and preserve maternal health. Normal secretions do not cause skin irritation, discomforts, and do not have odor. A doctor visit is recommended if there appears a thick cottage-cheese-like flow that is usually accompanied by itching, burning, redness of the vulva, and other symptoms. This condition may be related to yeast infection or other disorders. A pelvic examination with flow microscopic analysis is performed to diagnose the condition.
