Vulvar Warts

Vulvar warts, caused by the HPV virus can be detected with a colposcopy and is of the same virus that cases the penile wart. These growths on the genital areas are quite common. They are caused by the human papilloma virus, which is considered the major cause of the genital infections. Genital warts are an epidermal manifestation of the virus. There are over 60 strains of HPV known. Vulvar warts, caused by the HPV virus can be detected with a colposcopy and is of the same virus that cases the penile wart.

These are generally non-cancerous skin growths caused by a viral infection in the top layer of the skin. They are usually skin-colored and feel rough to the touch. They can be flat and smooth. A patient should consult a doctor, since not all the growths go away without treatment.
