Vulvar Itching

Vulvar itching could be a symptom of HPV, in which case a colposcopy and cryotherapy may be necessary. There are many conditions that may cause vaginal irritation. Lichen sclerosus is one condition with this symptom and is often misdiagnosed. Other causes of irritation could be a yeast infection, stron chemicals(including detergents, ointments, creams, douches and contraceptive foams). Treatments for the irritation can include avoiding antibiotics unless absolutely necessary, avoid douches, take showers rather than tub baths, keep the area clean and dry and use plain unscented soap.
