A vulvar itch can be attributed to lichen sclerosus or other infections caused by HPV. Itchy vulva, or pruritus vulvae is a very uncomfortable condition for infected women. The vulva is the area of skin outside the vagina. Most women have a slight itchy sensation from time to time. However, this condition means the itch is persistent.
