Vulvar Carcinoma
The diagnosis of vulvar carcinoma may have resulted from a pap smear test also used to diagnose cervical cancer.
This is a gynecologic malignancy primarily affecting postmenopausal women. Lesions are associated with HPV DNA. Most patients experience irritation, discomfort, and pain for weeks or months before the biopsy diagnoses the condition. The sooner the right diagnosis is made, the more effective the chosen treatment is.

Women over the age of 50 are more at risk for this condition. An HPV infection is also associated with this disease. Having pre-cancerous or cancerous conditions of other genital areas may also increase a woman’s risk for developing the disease.
