Bacterial Miscarriage Vaginosis

Bacterial miscarriage vaginosis presents a higher risk and can be accompanied with vaginal discharge; other symptoms may be vaginal dysplasia. BV, according to a British study, does not affect conception, but is associated with an increased risk of miscarriage in the first trimester in women undergoing in vitro fertilization. Doctors are not clear how this condition causes miscarriages but speculate that it’s due to pre-existing endometritis. Regardless of symptoms, any woman that has had a premature delivery or low birth weight baby in the past should be tested for the possible presence of the infection. Up to 16% of pregnant women have BV and have increased risk for complications in the US. Bacterial miscarriage vaginosis presents a higher risk and can be accompanied with vaginal discharge; other symptoms may be vaginal dysplasia.
