Bacterial Vaginosis Symptoms

Sometimes, there can be no bacterial vaginosis symptoms, like with disorders caused by human papillomavirus, such as lichen sclerosus, ASCUS, or cervical dysplasia. Some ways to prevent vaginal infections are never douche, as this upsets the balance of microorganisms in the vagina; avoid tight clothing. It is important not to douche during the few days preceding a visit to your doctor as it can hide signs of the infection and make the condition worse. Sometimes, there can be no bacterial vaginosis symptoms, like with disorders caused by human papillomavirus, such as lichen sclerosus, ASCUS, or cervical dysplasia.

Treatment is simple and effective once the infection is diagnosed. Symptoms are itching and burning and an unpleasant, fishy odor. Many women have this and are unaware they are infected until they are diagnosed during a routine pelvic exam and Pap smear.
