Vaginitis Monilial

Vaginitis Monilial

Vaginitis monilial may have similar symptoms to lichen sclerosis and plantar wart viruses. It is caused by fungus called Candida albicans normally present in the vagina, mouth, and rectum in small numbers. The condition counts to about 50% of all vaginal disorders and is characterized by inflammation of the vagina. The signs include curdy white discharge, odor, swelling of the vulva, and other disorders. Vaginitis monilial may have similar symptoms to lichen sclerosis and plantar wart viruses.

Women taking antibiotcis, oral contraceptives, and those who consume much alcohol and carbohydrates run the risk of developing this condition. It is recommended to keep the genital area clean, avoid wearing tight underpants, douching, and balance the diet to prevent the infection.
