Changes in the skin on the vagina and vulva (and sometimes urethra and bladder) produce such symptoms as burning, itching, urge to urinate often, pain on intercourse, and spotting. Estrogen-based treatment is prescribed. A diet based on phytoestrogens is also recommended.
