Desquamative Inflammatory Vaginitis

Desquamative inflammatory vaginitis is difficult to differentiate using only a Pap smear interpretation indicating cervical dysplasia. DIV is a blistering or erosive skin disease of the vagina. It is extremely difficult to diagnosis this condition due to its similarity to atrophic vaginosis. It has been known as exudative vaginosis, hydrorrhea vaginosis, erosive vaginosis s or haemorrhagic v vaginosis. Desquamative inflammatory vaginitis is difficult to differentiate using only a Pap smear interpretation indicating cervical dysplasia.

Pap Smear, Cervical Dysplasia

Common symptoms are persistent frothy discharge, burning, soreness and dyspareunia. Vaginal skin is thin and bleeds easily. Some cases of DIV are difficult to differentiate from lichen planus. The cause of DIV is unknown. Vulvar pain syndromes cause major psychological as well as physical distress. Desquamative inflammatory vaginitis is difficult to differentiate using only a Pap smear interpretation indicating cervical dysplasia.
