Genital infections cause vaginitis; an urinary infection is a cause of uretritis; HPV is responsible for venereal wart appearance. Studies report high incidence of BV in female partners of women with BV, and sexual transmission does occur in this situation. BV and monilia infections are the most common among lesbians and may be passed back and forth. Mixing vaginal secretions in any way can transmit vaginal infections. BV is easily treated. The infection is not caused by sex, but it is aggravated by sex. Tight pants and underwear that don’t breath also contribute to this condition. Ways of prevention of BV are using strong soaps or bubble baths, hygiene sprays or douching.
