A pelvic examination with flow microscopic analysis is performed to diagnose the condition. This condition may be related to yeast infection or other disorders. A doctor visit is recommended if there appears a thick cottage-cheese-like flow that is usually accompanied by itching, burning, redness of the vulva, and other symptoms.
