Significant increase in vaginal discharge when pregnant is normal and won't lead to infertility and other cervical disorders in the future. Excessive bloody flows are peculiar for a natural abortion or an ectopic pregnancy especially if there occurs cramping. Though some spotting is OK during the first trimester of the pregnancy, it is wise to consult a doctor on bleedings even if they stopped as it may indicate a serious problem.
