However, watery and thin flow of abnormal color may indicate a pre-term labor. Sometimes, a little blood may be present in this mucus-like flow. The closer the labor, the more flow women notice with the greatest amount just a few days before the labor. Normally, this flow consists of secretions produced by the cervix and vagina, discarded cells, and bacteria inherent to the vagina. Called also leukorrhea, a clear odorless flow may increase in pregnant women due to an increased estrogen production and a greater blood circulation in the area.
