Normal mucous vaginal discharge can change, if a woman has a vaginal wart, lichen sclerosus or other genital disorders. Any disturbance should be treated to avoid infection spread to the uterus and fallopian tubes. Imbalance in the vagina environment may be caused by a variety of factors, infections and STDs included. A decrease as well as increase in the flow may lead to skin irritation and pain on intercourse.
