Excess Vaginal Discharge

Excess vaginal discharge is not necessarily the sign of human papillomavirus or other disorders on the cervix; it can also be normal. Heavy secretions accompanied by discomforts and pain (itching, burning, cramping, skin irritation, soreness, etc.), and also foul odor and color changes can be caused by a variety of factors including bacterial and fungus infections, sexually transmitted diseases, hormone problems, and troubles during pregnancy especially if there comes out clot-like materials. Excess vaginal discharge is not necessarily the sign of human papillomavirus or other disorders on the cervix; it can also be normal.

Pregnant women also report heavy secretions, which is normal and is linked to a greater estrogen and progesterone production, and a greater blood circulation around the vagina. An increase in the secretions produced by the cervical glands is usually observed during intercourse or emotional stress.
