Dark Vaginal Discharge

Dark vaginal discharge can be a symptom of lichen sclerosis and other vaginal disorders, but no urinary infection has such symptoms. This condition makes the flow stay in the vagina for too long exposing it to oxidation and consequently to color changes. In non-pregnant women, a change in the flow from white to almost black may be due to ovary dysfunctions. Dark vaginal discharge can be a symptom of lichen sclerosis and other vaginal disorders, but no urinary infection has such symptoms.

Lichen Sclerosis, Urinary Infection

Heavy clot-like flows suggest a natural abortion. Spotting is common during the first trimester of the pregnancy, yet may also be indicative of a miscarriage since the symptoms are much the same. This condition may occur in pregnant women as the blastocyst implants into the uterus.
