When dark discharge vaginal is present, it could be a sign of infection caused by Human Papilloma virus(HPV). In healthy women, the liquid that comes out from the vagina is usually of white cloudy color or clear with mild to no odor. The color and amount of the flow may change during and after pregnancy, in different times of the cycle, and due to various infections. When dark discharge vaginal is present, it could be a sign of infection caused by Human Papilloma virus(HPV).

After pregnancy, a flow is red gradually changing to brown and clear at the end. An abnormal coloring of the flow may be linked to vaginitis. Women who have experienced colposcopy and those who have been taking birth control pills for a long time may also register this condition.
