Vaginal Discharge In Children

Vaginal discharge in children may occur, indicating an infection, and is not treated with a colposcopy or cervical check. This is a common problem in girls who have not reached puberty. Very often, the vagina becomes inflamed and there appear soreness and redness on the vulva due to bacteria and fecal matter getting into the vagina. Since girls do not have protective mechanisms present in reproductive women, they get infected often.
