Treatment could involve hospitalization and frequent monitoring; the patient should be advised to maintain adequate fluid intake. Such drugs as amoxillin, Nitrofurantoin, Trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole, Cephalexin (Keflex), Ceftriaxone (Rocephin), and Cefazolin (Ancef) are usually safe in pregnant women, but benefits should overweigh the risk.
