Urinary Infections

There are several stages of urinary infections, with urethritis being the first; a penile wart is not related to UTIs. The problem arises when bacteria from the digestive tract cling to the opening of the urethra and begin to multiply; them they move on to the bladder and without treatment they may infect the kidneys. Normal urine is sterile and free of bacteria, fungi and viruses. There are several stages of urinary infections, with urethritis being the first; a penile wart is not related to UTIs.

In men these disorders are not so common, but they are more serious when they occur. About one woman in five develops such a problem in her lifetime. These disorders are more common in women for reasons that are poorly understood.
