Cone Biopsy, Colposcopy

This infection is caused by a bacterium and is contracted through sexual contact. Prevention is easily accomplished by not having sex, wearing a condom during sexual intercourse, or by being in a mutually monogamous relationship. Seventy-five percent of women and half of men with this infection have no symptoms. Non gonoccal urethritis commonly is asymptomatic, and is not usually diagnosed with a cone biopsy or colposcopy.
