Vaginitis, Venereal Wart

Dysplasia is a term used when a specimen of cervical cells appear unusual under a microscope. Women with dysplasia may require getting a repeat test to see if the condition still exists. A diagnosis of dysplasia does not mean the woman will definitively progress to cancer. For a pap smear, atypical interpretations can be caused by vaginitis or venereal wart, but does not mean cancer.
