Abnormal Pap Smear Cells

Abnormal pap smear cells may advance to cervical cancer and are caused by condyloma HPV viruses. Due to some factors, cervical tissues may appear inflamed looking usual in size and shape. This condition may be indicative of a vaginal infection, a sexually transmitted disease, or other disorders that affect the vagina and cervix. If a sample taken during Papanicolaou test appears irregular, follow-up care is essential. Abnormal pap smear cells may advance to cervical cancer and are caused by condyloma HPV viruses.

If the tissues are affected, yet do not appear malignant, treatment is applied with a few Papanicolaou tests following to make sure the changes disappear. Ideally, affected women should have Papanicolaou tests every 6 months until they obtain three consecutive negative Papanicolaou reports. Abnormal pap smear cells may advance to cervical cancer and are caused by condyloma HPV viruses.
