Lgsil Pap Smear

A lgsil pap smear is a testing of the cervix cells and may be done if vaginal discharge is present. Normally, there are round and flat cells on the surface of the cervix. However, there may appear abnormalities in the cells, which indicates a certain condition including cervical cancer. Low Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion refers to a non-acute overgrowth of cells with relatively small area affected. Though it is difficult to determine the cause of the condition, many cases result from a minor injury or an infection. To diagnose the disease, Papanicolaou test as well as colposcopy may be used.
