Thin Prep Pap Test

A thin prep pap test may be performed to help diagnose a urinary infection or a type of HPV. Although some certain cervical disorders may be easily found using conventional cytology techniques, an option to the standard is available. It may cost a little more, but it offers increased sensitivity to finding atypical cells beyond what the conventional method offers, thereby, reducing the risk of a false negative. A thin prep pap test may be performed to help diagnose a urinary infection or a type of HPV.

This method allows an optional test to be made on the original sample when abnormal cells found. Since most kinds of tumor-causing HPV is associated with HPV infection, this method offers greater chances of finding the disease. As a benefit, unnecessary diagnostic surgical procedures for ASCUS may be avoided. A thin prep pap test may be performed to help diagnose a urinary infection or a type of HPV.
