A Digene Hybrid Capture Test is particularly helpful in determining atypical cells. Defined as atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance, this term refers to the least abnormal grade which can even lead to serious conditions if left untreated. Many pathologists will grade these as normal while others will grade them as abnormal.
