Pap Ascus

A pap ASCUS result would be common with a genital wart or HPV. The American Cancer Society recommends that women have yearly smears beginning at age 18 or when they become sexually active. Some women may need more frequent screenings if they are at high risk for cancer of the cervix. Risk factors are many. A pap ASCUS result would be common with a genital wart or HPV.

They include becoming sexually active before 18, if your mother took DES during pregnancy, if your sister or mother had cancer of the cervix, having had cancer of vagina or vulva, having a sexual partner who has or had cancer or the penis, or having had more than three sexual partners. A pap ASCUS result would be common with a genital wart or HPV.
