Pap Ascus

A result of pap ascus testing will sometimes be treated with a leep procedure, and is also used to remove any visible genital wart. They include becoming sexually active before 18, if your mother took DES during pregnancy, if your sister or mother had cancer of the cervix, having had cancer of vagina or vulva, having a sexual partner who has or had cancer or the penis, or having had more than three sexual partners. Risk factors are many. Some women may need more frequent screenings if they are at high risk for cancer of the cervix. The American Cancer Society recommends that women have yearly smears beginning at age 18 or when they become sexually active.
