Pap Smear Ascus

A pap smear ascus results will have symptoms that mimic vaginitis but will show the presence of genital wart viruses. Short for squamous cells of uncertain significance, this condition is referred to cases when there is no chance to determine the cause of the abnormalities in the cells examined under a microscope after being taken from the cervix walls. Despite abnormal changes in the cells, the cancerous origin isn’t confirmed. A pap smear ascus results will have symptoms that mimic vaginitis but will show the presence of genital wart viruses.

Besides cancer and infections, abnormalities in the cells may be caused by pregnancy problems, hormone imbalances, and other causes. Estimations show that up to 50% of such cases are not related to cancer or infections. If the condition does not disappear within 6 months, colposcopy and biopsy are done.
