Pap Smear Inflammation

With results of a pap smear, inflammation will indicate a virus that could cause cervical dysplasia or cervical cancer. Scraping taken from the walls of the cervix and endocervox (an opening of the cervix) are examined under a microscope for normal size and shape. If the cells are abnormal, treatment is applied to manage the cause of the condition that does not necessarily stem from cervical cancer. With results of a pap smear, inflammation will indicate a virus that could cause cervical dysplasia or cervical cancer.

Pap Smear Inflammation

  -

Cervical Dysplasia, Cervical Cancer

Viral and bacterial infections such as gonorrhea, trich, candidiasis, or HIP make the cervix inflamed, leading to abnormalities in the cells. If an unrelated cancerous condition is revealed during the procedure, necessary treatment and a repeat test should be performed to exclude the possibility of cancer being unnoticed. With results of a pap smear, inflammation will indicate a virus that could cause cervical dysplasia or cervical cancer.
