Painful Pap Smear

A painful pap smear could be because of vaginosis or HPV. Women having this test are offered to lie on a table wit the feet being in the stirrups and the knees close to the chest. By scraping gently the walls of the cervix, a doctor will take a few cells and put them on a slide for close examination. Test results take about 7-10 days to be ready. A painful pap smear could be because of vaginosis or HPV.
