Pap Smear Procedure

The Pap smear procedure helps diagnose the presence of human papilloma virus, which could be a factor in infertility. Obtaining a cytology result follows the process of swabbing loose cells from the outer cervical mucous membrane. The cells are then placed in a solution and examined under a microscope to determine if any cellular abnormalities are present. The number and characteristics of the abnormal cells determines the results. The Pap smear procedure helps diagnose the presence of human papilloma virus, which could be a factor in infertility.
