First Trimester Miscarriages

The symptoms of first trimester miscarriages may coincide with vaginal discharge or a urinary infection. This is the spontaneous loss of a pregnancy before 20 weeks gestation, before the stage of development at which a fetus is able to survive outside the womb. The most common symptom of miscarriage is vaginal bleeding, which can range from light spotting to heavier than a period. The symptoms of first trimester miscarriages may coincide with vaginal discharge or a urinary infection.

Studies suggest that pregnancy will occur in at least 60 percent of natural cycles in fertile couples.
