Nearly all of these are in the first twelve weeks. The causes of miscarriage are not thoroughly understood. When a woman has a first-trimester miscarriage, her doctor often cannot determine the cause. Between 50 and 70 percent of first trimester miscarriages are thought to be random events caused by chromosomal abnormalities in the fertilized egg. It is usually impossible to tell exactly why the baby was lost. With pregnancy miscarriages, contributing causes such as (vulvar)Vulvar Vestibulitis and other infections are investigated.
