Benign Mesothelioma
Even a benign mesothelioma is difficult to treat, like any other disorder related to asbestos exposure, such as asbestosis, etc.
This tumor is not life-threatening, because it consists of normal cells and it does not have any metastatic potential (i.e. it does not spread around the body). However, it is better to remove it, because there may be an increased risk of developing a malignant neoplasm.

asbestos, asbestosis
Such tumors do not damage tissues, although they may block vessels and passages and lead to the accumulation of liquid (effusion). This may require a minor procedure by aspiration, which involves draining of the liquid by incision with the help of a needle or a catheter.
