HPV Symptoms

More than 150 types of HPV have been identified. Certain types tend to occur at particular anatomic sites. The diagnosis is made on the basis of clinical findings. The primary clinical manifestation of the disease include common warts, genital warts, flat warts, deep palmoplantar warts (myrmecia), focal epithelial hyperplasia, and plantar cysts. Types 6,11,16,18, 31, and 35 are associated with the development of malignancies, which are most commonly seen in patients with genital warts.
