There are about 80 types of this virus; some of them cause common or genital warts, others lead to cervical and anal cancer. The most dangerous types are 16, 18, 31 and 45. To avoid the problem you should avoid multiple sexual partners. Condoms are ineffective because they can't possibly cover the entire infected area.
