HPV In Men

HPV in men may appear as a flat wart in the anogenital area, a Pap smear is recommended for the partner. In males, the HPV is rarely associated with any type of cancer causing strains. Symptoms will often occur on the scrotum (the sac that holds the testicles), the tip or shaft of the penis, and skin surrounding the genital area. Flat Wart, Pap Smear

It’s not known if treatments for removing visible warts reduce transmission or not. Unlike other sexually transmitted diseases, condoms are not effective in preventing the infection. Anal cancer in men is linked to Human Papilloma viruses. Gay and bisexual men with HIV are especially at risk of disease contraction. HPV in men may appear as a flat wart in the anogenital area, a Pap smear is recommended for the partner.
