HPV Incubation Period

A hpv incubation period can be rather long and even colposcopy may not detect verruca or cervical dysplasia for some time after contracting the virus. Some strains of Human Papilloma viruses are related to genital cancers. Because of the long periods of acquisition and showing symptoms, it is impossible to determine how you had it. Some individuals can contract the virus and not show any signs of condyloma (warts) and still transmit the virus. The average period is three months. The amount of time between acquisition of the disease and having visible symptoms can range from weeks to years. It is highly contagious. There are about 30 types of Human Papilloma viruses that are sexually transmitted.
