An abnormal Pap smear is not a hpv diagnosis for vulvar vestibulitis; further in-depth procedures such as a cone biopsy can. There are over 100 types of Human Papillomavirus with more than 30 of these sexually transmitted. The genital viruses considered high-risk can cause abnormal pap smears, cancer of the uterine cervix, anus and penis. The low-risk types cause mild pad abnormalities, warts and but not associated with cancer. An abnormal Pap smear is not a hpv diagnosis for vulvar vestibulitis; further in-depth procedures such as a cone biopsy can.

Any person who is sexually active is at risk for the genital Human Papillomavirus infection. The more partners, the greater risk. For women under the age of 25, prevalence of the disease is between 28% and 46%. Most people with these viruses show no symptoms. An abnormal Pap smear is not a hpv diagnosis for vulvar vestibulitis; further in-depth procedures such as a cone biopsy can.
