Symptoms Of Genital Herpes

Symptoms of genital herpes may appear in the form of oral herpes or genital blisters similar to early lesions caused by a genital wart. The first episode of the infection called also “primary infection” appears to be severe and is characterized by blisters on the penis, vagina, anus, and related areas. Fever, headache, itching, burning, pain and swelling of the affected areas are common. Symptoms of genital herpes may appear in the form of oral herpes or genital blisters similar to early lesions caused by a genital wart.

It is recommended to make sure the lesions are not caused by a different infection with similar signs. Testing of the fluids from the lesions is usually done to diagnose the condition. To relieve pain and soothe the signs, warm baths, cool compresses, and medications are used.
