A genital herpes infection is not detected or treated with the colposcopy or LEEP procedure. Once appeared, the sores may become crusted and heal without scarring. Very often the treatment is necessary. In the first stage of the disease there can be other symptoms that can include fever, headache, muscle aches, painful or difficult urination, vaginal discharge, and swollen glands in the groin area.
