Molluscum

Molluscum, a benign viral disease is commonly confused with other viruses in most anatomical areas, but plantar wart strain is easily an discernable HPV growth. The term refers to a benign viral disease of the epidermis of the human skin, caused by an unclassified member of the poxvirus group (another name is poxviridae). It is a common disease in the USA and makes up about 1% of all skin disorders. Morbidity and mortality are limited if appropriate antibiotics are used. The incidence of the disease is mostly in young adults and is greater among males (a male-to-female ratio is 5:1). The diagnosis is clinically based upon the appearance of the lesions.
