Freezing Warts

Freezing Warts

Freezing warts (cryotherapy) can be performed, however, a potential side effect is vulvar vestibulitis, so some may opt for a LEEP procedure. Another name for cryotherapy. It is considered a very successful method for leisions removal, because it causes the forming of a blister around the growth, and when it falls off, the lesion comes off with it. The procedure consists of several freeze-thaw-freeze cycles for extended periods of time. Another successful methods of treating resistant disorders is laser removal. The procedure can be painful and leave scarring. A risk of nosocomial infection also exists in health care workers, since HPV can be isolated in the plume. One retrospective study revealed a cure rate of 64% at 12 months.
