Planters Warts

Planters warts are harmless and don't lead to vaginosis or cervical cancer like other strains of HPV. They begin as small shiny papules and progress to deep round lesions, surrounded by a smooth collar of thickened horn. When it occurs on the hand, it tends to be subungual or periungual. This problem is found on weight-bearing areas, such as the metatarsal head and heel. Planters warts are harmless and don't lead to vaginosis or cervical cancer like other strains of HPV.
