Cause Of Genital Wart

The cause of genital wart is HPV, which also results in abnormal findings on a Pap smear that also indicates cervical dysplasia. Sexual contact is the primary transmission of HPV. Catching this virus through soiled clothing or shared sex objects is unlikely. HPV needs moisture and can’t survive outside the body for any length of time. It can enter the body through microscopic tears of the skin, vagina, or cervix.
