Leep, cone biopsy are two procedures recommended for cevical abnormalities related to genital herpes or HPV and for a facial wart that is resistant to normal treatment methods.
When a woman has a Pap smear resulting in moderate or severe dysplasia, the most commonly recommended treatments are a loop electrosurgical excision procedure or a cervical conization. These procedures remove the areas with abnormal cells, in hopes that when the cervix heals, it will heal with normal, healthy tissue.
