Colposcopy During Pregnancy
A colposcopy during pregnancy cannot affect the cervix, but is very useful for determining the stage of cervical dysplasia and other disorders.
Unless the symptoms appear worse, biopsies should only be taken at the initial exam, to keep the risk of harming the cervix or infection to a minimum. Since surgical treatments cannot be done while pregnant, follow up exams should be performed.

Cervix, Cervical Dysplasia
It is safe to do while pregnant, but if biopsies are taken they should be kept at a minimum and while using precise care. If a pregnant women gets an abnormal Pap reading at a routine exam, it is still recommended that a second exam, with a colposcope be performed.
